Dixie Chicks are one of only a handful of acts with multiple albums achieving "diamond" status! Their initial commercial and mainstream success came with the release of their debut album, 1998's "Wide Open Spaces." Their traditional bluegrass sound mixed sweetly with soft rock and of course their effortless harmonies, quickly took to the hearts of many country music lovers worldwide.
Starting with original members of the trio, sisters Martie Erwin Maguire, known as a virtuoso on the fiddle and the mandolin, and Emily Erwin Robison, who is a master of the banjo, the Dobro, the guitar and the accordion. With the addition of lead singer, Natalie Maines, Dixie Chicks were launched into the mainstream with their beautiful, traditional Country and Western sound.
