Cosmic De-Evolution Tour 2025

Us here at the Pine Knob Music Theatre are beyond thrilled to welcome The B-52s and Devo to the stage this fall for what is shaping up to be one of the most iconic, eccentric, and downright fun nights we’ll see all year. This co-headlining tour, dubbed the 2025 Cosmic De-Evolution Tour, isn’t just a celebration of two genre-bending pioneers —  it’s a full-circle moment for each of them that is decades in the making  for two of the most influential acts to come out of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s new wave rock explosion. The show is bold, it’s bright, it’s weird in the best way possible — and it’s coming right here to the heart of Michigan on Thursday September 25th. And the band is going everywhere this year y’all - including The Hollywood Bowl in LA, Jones Beach Theatre over in New York City, The Budweiser stage in Toronto, two nights in Texas, and of course - right here at Pine Knob for all of our rock and roll pleasure.

Formed in Athens, Georgia in 1976, The B-52s burst onto the scene with a sound so unlike anything else at the time — surf rock guitars, zany call-and-response vocals, and a rhythm section that turned every track into an intergalactic dance party. With breakout singles like Rock Lobster, Private Idaho, and Planet Claire,”the band quickly built a cult following with their fun approach to their music. But it was their 1989 album Cosmic Thing that catapulted them into mainstream stardom, delivering chart-toppers like Love Shack and Roam, and solidifying them as icons of alternative pop. Over the years, they’ve shared the stage with legends, built a legacy of fashion and sound that inspired generations, and managed to stay wildly themselves—never compromising, always innovating. Even as they announced a farewell tour in 2022, it became clear that you can’t really retire a band whose entire brand is about throwing the party. So now, in a rare return to the road, they’re joining forces with Devo and Lene Lovich to give fans a final taste of that neon-drenched magic.

This isn’t just another tour —  it’s a living breathing museum of what made music in the '80s electric. With their signature beehives, quirky visuals, and wild energy, The B-52s are inviting us back into their world one more time.

So, are you ready to head down the Atlanta Highway and dance this mess around? Good - We thought so!  Tickets are on sale NOW — and grab yours while you can, because this Love Shack won’t stay parked forever! See ya soon, Michigan!
